Name
Schilliger Glued Laminated Timber according to EN 14080
In Modul C4 fallen keine Prozesse/Umweltwirkungen an.
Technical purpose of product or process Glued laminated timber is used in structural engineering as a load-bearing element, e.g. in bridges and buildings, as visible or concealed beam parts. MHT, LAM and RBS are also used in structural construction, frame construction scantlings are intended as uprights for timber frame construction and as track sleepers for element construction.

Technology description including background system Only sawn timber produced in-house is used, which is pre-dried to 12% wood moisture and untreated. The moisture content of each lamella is measured, and after visual pre-sorting, they are planed on 4 sides. They then pass through the quality scanner, which marks defective areas for cross-cutting and sorts the lamellas according to their quality. After the defects have been removed, the lamellas are finger-jointed into a continuous strand and cut to length according to the order. After another planing process, the lamellas are glued and pressed: Five presses on one drum are used flexibly. The finished product is finally planed, chamfered and final checked. The commission packages are packed for delivery in the foiling plant. During the production process, the quality requirements of ISO 9001 are met (certificate number 01 100 1300116 LGA-Intercert).

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
