Technical purpose of product or process Rolled profile structures are used for bolted, welded and otherwise connected building structures, bridges and other structures or in steel composite structures. Examples of this are - Single-storey buildings (industrial halls and warehouses) - Multi-storey buildings (offices, residential buildings, stores, parking garages, high-rise buildings, etc.) - Traffic and pedestrian bridges - Other structures (power plants, stadiums, convention centers, airports, train stations, etc.)

Technology description including background system The manufacturing process includes the procurement of all raw materials, planning, energy use during processing, delivery and removal, packaging and waste recycling or final disposal. The profiles required for production are delivered, provided with material labels and taken to the correct storage location. The first processing step is the blasting of the primary material based on the factory planning, which is transferred from Steel Design to the work preparation department. After blasting, the individual profiles are cut to size. The cut individual parts are then assembled into a component and welded together with the specified weld seams. This is done in accordance with the information specified in the component plan. The final step is the corrosion protection of the individual components, which are then transported to the construction site by truck. A quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 has been introduced and certified. In addition, cyclical monitoring is carried out in accordance with the product standards, e.g. EN 1090. Technical data: This EPD applies to rolled profile structures with profiles of different steel grades and delivery forms. Specific information on dimensional tolerances, structural data and mechanical and chemical properties can be found in standards EN 10025-1, EN 10210-1 & EN 10219-1. Declared unit: This Environmental Product Declaration applies to the declared unit of 1 t average Unger rolled profiles structure.

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
